University to welcome over 1600 runners to campus for Hull Half Marathon
7th June 2018
7th June 2018
This Sunday, runners taking part in the inaugural Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon will be making their way through campus as the University is an ‘official venue partner’ for the run.
This is a really exciting event and colleagues are encouraged to get involved by supporting the 1600 runners visiting our beautiful campus, including over 40 of our colleagues who will proudly be representing the University in vibrant t-shirts.
In addition to the race, there will be live music, food, family games including giant inflatable Jenga and a football table on the plaza outside of the Brynmor Jones Library, making it a fun day out for friends and family too. Spectators should come to campus at least 15 minutes before they expect their friend/family member to reach mile eight, in order to ensure they get a good view - we expect the first runners to come through at 9.45am.
Colleagues and students from the Faculty of Health Sciences will also be representing the University and providing massages to runners at the finish line in a branded tent, providing another fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the University.
Spectators can enter the campus via the north west entrance on Inglemire Lane circled on the map here. All visitors will need to park on the temporary car park located on the cricket pitch.
Road closures surrounding the University are shown with the purple line on the map, but the full list of road closures can be found here.
