Welcome back everybody!

The University of Hull Sport Development Team would like to welcome you to the University of Hull, whether you are returning for a second year or are completely new, what a treat we have in store for you this academic year!!

The brand new sports and fitness centre is finally here and we are so excited!! The new sports centre is 3 times as big as the current one we have and will accommodate for 3 futsal courts, 3 basketball courts, 3 netball courts and 12 badminton courts. It will also be the home of a brand new strength and conditioning suite and state of the art gym.

Through our Campus Sport programme we offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for you to take part in. Firstly our Hull programme will include a range of sports from Just Play Football, Badminton, Yoga, Basketball and many more. This is a fantastic opportunity for you guys to just turn up and play that sport with no prior joining fee or membership. The only charge that applies is the session fee which is as little as £1 or £2. These sessions are a great way to meet new people who share a passion of similar interests. The Campus Sport programme will start from the Monday 24th September so make sure you save the date!

We also offer fantastic volunteering opportunities through our Campus Sport programme and events. This is a great way to enhance your CV whilst studying and improve your skills of delivering successful sport sessions and events. We also offer various incentives and rewards for giving up your time to help us deliver a positive sporting experience for our students. Interested? Click here for more information.

Finally Hull Sport offer a more competitive edge to our services through our Intramural leagues. We currently run competitive leagues for football (11-a-side and 5-a-side) and netball. Also brand new to our league offerings is our squash leagues and ladders, which are completely free to enter and open to students, staff and members of the public. Our leagues are a great way to play competitive sport whilst studying at Hull as all fixtures are played here on campus. Several subjects and schools around the University have created faculty teams so make sure you ask around and have a look out on how you can join in. Plus, if you are a qualified umpire or referee – you could have the opportunity to be paid whilst your studying! Email campussport@hull.ac.uk for more information.
