We are delighted to share that the Keep it Moving programme was recently nominated and won the Cyril Villiers Organisation of the Year award at the Disability Sport Yorkshire Awards last week.
The Keep it Moving Programme is an exercise programme that has been created to remove the barriers associated with exercise for amputees. This industry leading programme has helped countless amputee's gain fitness, confidence and friendship with like minded people in Hull, Yorkshire and Nationally. Designed by academic staff from the School of Sport Exercise and Rehabilitation Science in collaboration with staff from Hull Sport. Four sessions are offered each week, two in the gym at the University of Hull and two via Zoom to amputees from all around the UK.
With staff delivering on workshops and upskilling other organisations to deliver similar sessions as well as providing a great placement opportunity for students of Sports Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy to gain valuable experience of work with this demographic.
We are incredibly delighted to have won the Cyril Villiers Organisation of the Year award, and we would like to thank everyone who helps Keep it Moving every week, including participants, students, and academics.
