Matt Nelson on the podium for a second consecutive year at BUCS Sprint Triathlon

8th May 2018
For a second consecutive year Matthew Nelson has been our lone triathlete representing the University of Hull at the annual BUCS Sprint Triathlon, and for a second consecutive year he has pushed his body to the limit and reached another podium finish! Finishing with a time of 1:02:14.8 Matt beat the course record he set last year when he took the gold medal by a total of 1 minute and 4 seconds!
This year the standard of runners had increased dramatically, and despite beating his previous time, Matt was beaten for gold and silver medal. However, bronze is an outstanding result considering the field consisted of 476 runners, 266 in his category. Full results can be accessed through this link: DBResults.co.uk/results
The weather was incredibly hot and sunny at the weekend, we can only imagine what the runners were going through! Matt will now be looking forward to competing in the BUCS Standard Distance Triathlon on the 20th May.
