Our fitness suite is on the move

It’s game on as the first phase of our brand new sports facilities nears completion. As we transition from phase one of the development to phase two, will we need to relocate the fitness suite from the existing building to the new sports arena. We’ve tried our hardest to minimise the impact on members but there will inevitably be some disruption during the move. We understand that this is an inconvenience but we appreciate your patience whilst we bring you the first phase of our £16 million redevelopment.

Tuesday 4 September

The fitness suite will remain open in the existing building, although there will be limited equipment available as we prepare to move. Some cardio machines will be accessible, along with weights ranging from 2kg to 20kg. Our expert team will also be on hand in a temporary personal training zone.

Wednesday 5 to Monday 10 September

From 10.30am on Wednesday 5 September, the fitness suite will be unavailable as it is relocated to the new sports arena. We will be open again at 7am on Monday 10 September.

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September

Fancy a preview? A soft opening will provide an opportunity for members to enjoy a 15 minute tour of the new facilities, followed by 45 minutes in the fitness suite. To book a slot email tim.purdy@hull.ac.uk there are limited spaces available and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

As part of the soft opening, a members’ rig class will run at 10am on both Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September. Again, limited spaces are available so book early to avoid disappointment tim.purdy@hull.ac.uk

Our fantastic range of group exercise classes will run as normal, taking place in the existing building and transferring to the new sports arena on Monday 10 September.

The fitness suite will reopen at 7am on 10 September, with the new sports arena fully opening on Monday 17 September. Fitness suite members will be able to access free guest passes from reception as a small thank you for bearing with us during the move.
